Spyderco Knife "Genuine Stag Kiwi 3". Kiwis combine everything great about traditional old-world non-locking pen knives with techno twenty-first century performance blade-steel and ergonomics. Its affable two-inch long 8Cr13Mov blade (hollow ground) is a classically-shaped Wharncliffe with a Spyderco Round Hole giving an animalistic appearance. Above the hole sits a spine cusp, making a slip-resistant site for thumb or index finger placement adding precision and control while cutting.

Classified as a non-locking folder, the Kiwi has a slip-joint pivot that generates resistance to closing, keeping the blade safely open when used. Bitten out of the handle’s underbelly are two deep-cut finger-indentations. The first positions the index finger in line behind the cutting edge and doubles as a stop, keeping the blade from inadvertently closing. The second indent (cut just behind the first) accommodates the middle finger. Both indents jog the fingers to a position on the handle offering control, dexterity and conveying the impression of gripping a larger knife. Kiwi stainless handle is scaled (both front and back) with natural stag that is unique in color and texture to each knife. Handle is clipless with a lanyard for lacing a thong or leather strap. Spyderco Knife "Brad Southard Plain". Brad Southard is an amazingly talented custom knifemaker who specializes in high-performance folder designs. His first collaboration with Spyderco features a “flipper”—a novel blade-opening device that was pioneered by custom knifemaker Kit Carson. A flipper consists of a small lever that extends from the base of the Southard’s CTS 204P hollow-ground blade and protrudes from the back of the knife’s handle when closed. Pulling on it with your index finger creates a tension against the detent mechanism that holds the blade closed. When the detent is overcome, the blade rotates on a special captive ball-bearing pivot system and snaps authoritatively into the open position.

The Southard’s handle combines a textured Earth-brown G-10 scale and thick titanium liner on one side with a solid titanium scale on the other. The titanium scale forms the foundation of the knife’s sturdy Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism and features a small inlaid G-10 panel that acts as an overtravel stop when releasing the lock mechanism. It is also home to the knife’s matching stainless steel clip, which supports right-side tip-up carry.

Offering an amazing synthesis of ergonomics, functionality, and state-of-the-art materials, the Southard is one of the most advanced Spyderco folders ever produced. Comes new in original box.

Discontinued Spyderco Knife "Viele Liner Lock Full Serrated". Howard Viele has been a leading member of the Knifemaker's Guild since 1976. His designs are visually identifiable and carry his personal stamp: tactical, modern, gentlemanly and tapered. The Spyderco/Viele wears this signature appearance embodying flowing lines and a high-tech tone. Its VG-10 full serrated blade is hollow-ground to further enhance the folder's overall tapered look.

Marking it as a Viele design is his signature logo of three small parallel holes and a circular symbol which represent the Japanse God of War. Positioned to maintain the intergrity of the blade's sleek shape, the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole is somewhat smaller than normally found on Spyderco knives. Texturing along the blade's spine is designed to grip the thumb's pad keeping it in contact with the top of the blade for added responsiveness and control over the cutting edge. An all-stainless handle is blanketed on the back by a scale of black woven G-10 and the handle's front scale is partly superimposed with a tile of black Micarta. The Micarta tile cuves downward near the blade giving the inpression of a bolster. An open spine with spacers lessens bulkiness and weight and facilitates cleaning and drying the knife's inner workings. Its black steel clothing clip carries tip-down. New condition no box.

Butch Vallotton, like most knifemakers, started making knives as a hobby, had to start selling knives to pay for his hobby and before he knew it at the age of thirty (in 1984) he became a professional fulltime knifemaker. A good part of his business comes from automatic knives and he is credited with inventing the ambidextrous blade thumb stud.

His collaboration with Spyderco called the Vallotton Sub Hilt Folder features an ambidextrous thumb stud that both opens the blade (in addition to the Spyderco Round Hole) and doubles as a stop-pin, keeping the blade from rotating open beyond the locked position.

A long time fan of Italian-style, heavy-stock folders the Sub-Hilt bears an international flavor with a modified coffin-shaped handle of polished black G-10 with tongue-and-groove fitted stainless bolsters. Further complementing the handle is a Michael Walker LinerLock? a four-way: tip-up/tip-down, right- or left-handed steel clip and screw-together scale construction.

Crucible Steel Inc. of New York produces the CPM-S30V powdered steel used for the modified Tanto-shaped blade. The blade is hollow-ground at the cutting edge with a convex-grind at the tip and is offered PlainEdged for the best available cutting performance. Brand new in box.
