Custom Wayne Valachovic Knife "Maple Burl Wood Tail Lock". Beautiful genuine maple burl wood handle scales. Hand satin finished quality stainless steel drop point blade stamped with Wayne Valachovic's logo. The entire spine is elegantly file worked. Hand satin finished quality stainless steel dovetailed bolsters, liners, and handle pins. The knife features a tail lock system which means by pushing down on the protruding lanyard hole the blade is released from its lock position. Lanyard hole with leather lanyard and stainless steel bead. This is a high quality and beautifully designed pocket knife by custom knife maker Wayne Valachovic. I don't get the pleasure of having Wayne's knives too often so get this one while its here. Comes mint in a black zip up pouch.

Unique, excellent quality knife, handmade in Bangkok,Thailand by a very pleasant gentleman I met at the Custom knife show in Las Vegas, February 2006. A Double action automatic that snaps out hard and locks up solid. Blade can be manually opened with one hand using the thumbstud. Liner lock for closing. Nice ivory micarta handle - very nicely done. Polished 440C stainless steel clip point blade. New condition.

Rare Old Custom Van Barnett Knife "Beautiful Abalone & Hand Forged Damascus Liner Lock Folder". Some of the most beautiful genuine abalone handle scales I have ever seen. Hand forged swedged damascus drop point blade done by Van Barnett himself with knurled thumb stud. Awesome relief sculpted hand forged damascus bolsters also done by Van Barnett. Elegant complete file working on the stainless steel liners. Raised spine that is also elegantly file worked. On the inside of the spine Van Barnett has stamped his name forever making it known that this is one of his genuine custom pieces of art. This is one of Van's earlier knives and is indeed a beautiful creation. He handcrafts very few knives now and each one of his knives is a highly sought after collectors piece. Mint condition in nice black zip up pouch.
West Virginian knifemaker, Van Barnett has been making knives full time since the early 1980s. He is a self-taught knifemaker, beginning his knifemaking career after graduating from high school. Identifying primarily as an artist, Van considered other careers, but was ultimately most inspired by knifemaking’s refreshing new way of experimenting with creativity in design and construction. Van calls his creations "designs from the mind with a breath of life from the soul." He has won over fifty knifemaking awards, and considers being voted into the San Diego Art Knife Invitational (AKI) one of the greatest honors he has ever received. The AKI is a group of twenty-five knifemakers from around the world, and the only method of admission involves an existing member’s resignation or death. Van believes strongly in sole authorship, though he does occasional collaborations with his wife, Dellana who is also a knifemaker, artist, and jeweler. Van excels at engraving, carving, gold-work, and design.

Rare, old, discontinued Speed-Tech Knife "Synergy Button Lock". This an extremely well made, high quality knife and has one of the smoothest actions I have ever seen. The company told customers no need to use any lubricant on the pivot area because the tolerances are so tight. Aircraft grade aluminum is CNC machined into a well sculpted and contoured handle that's anodized blue. A Button lock holds the blade open like Fort Knox with zero side play, really awesome and rarely ever seen. Upswept persian style blade is of premium 154CM stainless steel. Lanyard hole. Dual thumb studs for easy one hand opening. Removable pocket clip for tip-down carry mounted high for very discreet carry, rides low in the pocket. Comes in nice zip storage case. This one is #12 of the original 74 " IPO" (Initial Product Offerring) made for the blade show in 1999.
